💸💸Apple Crosses 3 Billion iPhone Shipments Worldwide🙊😀
Apple Hits 3 Billion iPhones Shipped, Eyes AI Expansion and iPhone 17 Air Launch
Apple has officially shipped its three billionth iPhone, marking a major milestone in the tech giant’s history. CEO Tim Cook made the announcement during the company’s Q3 2025 earnings call, highlighting continued growth for the flagship product.
The journey began in 2007 with the launch of the original iPhone. Apple reached 1 billion shipments in 2016, followed by the 2 billion milestone in 2021. Now, just four years later, the iPhone has crossed the 3 billion unit mark — a testament to its enduring popularity worldwide.
iPhone Drives Growth Amid Tariff Pressures
Cook revealed that iPhone sales saw double-digit growth during the third quarter, contributing to $94 billion in revenue, a 10% year-over-year increase. Apple analyst Mark Gurman suggested that recent growth may have been fueled by customers rushing to buy iPhones out of concern that Trump-era tariffs might raise prices in the future.
However, tariffs are already impacting the bottom line. Cook confirmed that tariffs cost Apple $800 million in the quarter ending June, with an estimated $1.1 billion hit expected in the following quarter.
iPhone 17 Air on the Horizon
As anticipation builds for the next iPhone lineup, Apple is expected to unveil its latest models in September. Among the rumored devices is the iPhone 17 Air, reportedly an ultra-thin smartphone that aligns with Apple’s "Air" branding seen in its Mac and iPad lines.
According to Gurman, the iPhone 17 Air may feature:
A single-lens camera
A 6.6-inch display
A basic A19 chip
Apple’s own in-house modem (first seen in iPhone 16e)
Expected price: around $900
This puts it slightly above the base iPhone 16 and in line with the 16 Plus.
Apple Doubles Down on AI
In addition to iPhone news, Tim Cook emphasized Apple’s growing focus on artificial intelligence. The company is "significantly growing out investments" in AI and is open to potential acquisitions to fast-track development — although no specific targets were named.
As Apple celebrates this historic iPhone milestone, its strategy clearly points toward two future priorities: AI leadership and the launch of a new generation of iPhones that may redefine the mobile experience once again.
