KARACHI – The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) continues to enforce high taxation on Apple iPhones in 2025, making premium smartphones increasingly expensive for Pakistani buyers. The revised PTA tax structure for August 2025 still places duties above Rs. 100,000 for most base iPhone models.


These taxes are part of the government’s strategy to control smartphone imports and promote local manufacturing. While officials claim the policy helps protect local industry and conserve foreign exchange, critics argue that the heavy taxes are placing flagship devices out of reach for many.
